The Origins Of Man And The Truth Of Life

The world is split on conclusions of the origins of mankind and in both camps there are people who really believe what they think has occurred in the past. It can be hard to make heads or tails out of what is actually true concerning our beginnings on Earth.

More often than not we are told that we should believe what people are telling us even if it seems a bit sketchy as, they say, the experts have checked out all of the details and that we just can't fully understand. I say no way, that you and I can absolutely put the puzzle pieces together even if we don't have thirteen college degrees in nine different categories of study.

As time passes on there is more and more information coming to light about what has truly happened in the past. Many people have become more aware that they have not been told the truth about the history of our world and the events that have taken place and the general narratives have somewhat fallen apart with people realizing that they have been lied to.

I personally believe each person deserves to be given all the information so that they can make wise decisions in life. Every person has a mind and heart and the freedom to determine what things mean in regard to the information presented before them. So, I decided to piece together some particular noteworthy points that I feel would be of great interest to those searching for more than the “believe what you are told” conclusions. I think anyone who is intrigued by the greater mysteries in life will appreciate knowing those things which are not so often offered or shown to them under normal circumstances.

Section I - The Complexity Of Creation And Of Life

(A) DNA Is A Self Correcting Engineered Code

In the world of biology they have learned vast quantities of information about the coding systems underlying all lifeforms in the world. Even though there are people who assert it is not the same as computer code, there are abundant witnesses to the contrary who purport that computer code is exactly what it is. Just like some of the scientific community used to be convinced some of the "data" in the DNA strand was "junk code," they have since learned that it is not junk at all and serves a function that they simply did not understand. In the same way, there are people who will make claims that contradict the well established fact that we are looking at computer engineering and a set of blueprints that literally define the three dimensional features that make us who we are.

In 2020 they were reporting that it is possible to store information on DNA to the tune of exabyte quantities and had the capability to create an error-correcting code for synthetic DNA (as our DNA has error-correcting code built in) and to essentially use it for computing with zero errors.[1]

At Columbia University during a study, researchers stored a computer operating system and a short movie onto DNA molecules.[2] This is a major feat from a computer engineering standpoint and makes it clearly obvious that this is a storage medium for computing. Not only this, but it is reported also that in a paper published by Nature Biotechnology researchers hacked a human cell and changed the code to give it instructions. Using the phrase "programmable cells" they go on to say that they are altering the segment of DNA that encodes its instructions to turn "on" and "off" switches like an electronic circuit.[3]

To top all of that off Gary Marcus is paraphrased as stating that "embryogenesis most resembles a genetic computer program that produces a three-dimensional living organism."[4] This is just the tip of the ice burg really and there are thousands of other quotes from individuals who are simply reporting what they are seeing.

The deeper one digs into the subject, the more obvious I personally think it should be to them that this is not a random accident. If a simple book on a beach must have an author, then a string of re-programmable computer code an exabyte in length that automatically corrects errors must have one also.

(B) Where God Stands On Creation And Belief

So just for arguments sake let's consider that there is a God, what would His stance be concerning this information? What would He say about how we should think about it all? If we use the Bible as a starting point to contemplate the situation we could determine whether it makes sense upon arriving at a conclusion.

In Psalm 33:9 the Bible says that God spoke and it came to be. If everything is coded information then this sounds like a very reasonable claim. We know that video games encompass vast worlds created by programmers of which people can navigate and exist sub-dimensionally as an avatar commanded using a controller. How different would it be if God "programmed" the world into existence, if digital worlds exist inside of gaming systems? Not very different at all, and having discussed DNA already we have a solid basis for supposing that such a thing is true if we draw a correlation from it.

God also isn't unreasonable in terms of requirements for people He created according to the Bible. Pertaining to behavior, all that He requires of us is for us to love Him most of all out of gratitude for being given life, and to love others the same way we love ourselves (Matthew 22:37-40). He also says that He counts how we treat others as how we are treating Him in Matthew 25:40 and to not be selfish people in Philippians 2:3.

What about in regards to believing in God Himself? Does He expect us to simply believe He is real and is there even though we can't see Him? In Hebrews 11:3 we are told that what we see is made by things that are not seen, and in Romans 1:20 God says that the visible world we can see and touch and the engineering in it are fingerprints of His existence and that by this He expects us to know He is real and watching.

God also says that the purpose of life is to be connected to Him (John 17:3 - 1 Timothy 1:5) and that He is love (1 John 4:7-8). He continues this theme throughout the New Testament and even states that without love we are completely empty and nothing (1 Corinthians 13:2).

The sins we commit are simply crimes against a God who is love, meaning we have been unloving to Him or to other people around us who He loves as His children. Crime is something we all tend to avoid for the most part, even though we are imperfect and drive a little too fast, or cheat something here or there, most people know that lying is wrong and killing is unacceptable. God's standards for being loving to Him and other people are simply higher standards and in the Bible He predicts in the Old Testament what He would do in the New Testament to show that He is outside of time and real. Then He does what He predicted He would do and sends His Son to die for our "sins" (crimes) against Him so that He can forgive and pardon us (John 3:16-17) if only we will acknowledge His Son and turn from being criminals and doing evil selfish things.

I don't think that is unreasonable. Do you?

(C) The Odds Of The Gamble In Light Of Eternity

If there is a billion in one chance that God actually sent His Son to save us from a place called Hell, and that He is love and will forgive us for believing in Him and what He done for us, then we owe it to ourselves to do everything in our power to find out if it is true and to take action to secure our soul in eternity.

To risk eternity is the only mistake a person can make that they will never stop regretting. Many people jump to the assumption that religion was created by men just to control other men and that it is all a big ponzi scheme to manipulate and keep people in line. If this is not true however, then there are many people who are regretting their decision right now in a place they cannot escape simply because they did not want to be loving to God or other people.

The will to live (the desire not to die) is a universal desire built into all of us and according to the Bible there is only one way to make it off of Earth alive. This is a gigantic gamble to take to make a one-off speculation about whether or not these things are true and to just move on and disregard God's warnings without considering all of the evidence in discerning whether we should take the Bible seriously.

Another account on "religion" is that all paths lead to God, but I would caution to be weary of such claims. Religion is just the seeking of God to be connected to Him and follow His ways. There is no other religion on Earth besides Christianity that promises forgiveness to anyone, or that has paid for our sins (crimes) against God through His own divine hand, or that teaches love is above all other things. These are things to consider in our own journey that must be weighed in the balances.

Overall, if there is a God of love who expects us to know that He is there and to be loving to Him and others and who will judge us but paid the way to forgive us, then we have every reason in the world to spend the effort and time to check these things out (Acts 17:11) so that we can keep our soul for eternity (Matthew 16:26).

It is the gamble of a lifetime to throw our own lives to the wind and say, "oh well," when the stakes are so eternally high!

(D) Every Conclusion Includes Great Faith

There comes a point in life where you have to trust somebody with your life. Whether we put this trust in ourselves, or in the hands of the "experts" in a particular field of study, or even a doctor or medical staff's hands... eventually, the trust factor comes into play. There is no difference when it comes to what we believe concerning death and what may, or may not, happen afterwards. The only difference is "who" it is that we are putting our trust in.

The Bible calls this faith, and faith simply means to trust in someone or something. People are trusting in a lot of things these days and I dare say most of those things are letting people down. There are hoards of people putting their trust into money, and loads more people putting their trust into scientific advances hoping they will discover the key to immortality.

All of these things pale in comparison to the person who gave us life, if God did give us life. (Obviously, I am personally of the belief that God gave us life) If I own a truck and I love my truck, I'm not going to trust the local shade tree mechanic with doing fine tuning work on the engine, or go to a brakes and oil change lot and ask them to put a supercharger on it. Oh my dear me I would lose a lot of sleep and would be concerned for my precious truck. No, I would trust the people that made the truck because they know exactly how it is built, what it is made to do, how it operates, and they have the ability to fix it, upgrade it, and have the proper parts that belong on the truck.

There are also people believing in evolution as the answer to all their questions. The kicker is, I can't tell you what exactly that is doing for them in regards to benefiting them. In light of the fact that they are going to die, they are trusting in spirituality maybe, but for evolution the typical consensus is that we are materialistic beings and that there is nothing after death. Maybe not having the authority figure called "God" around gives them the comfort of believing they don't have sins (crimes), but I think we all know we are imperfect. I certainly have no judgment for anyone.

Regardless of how it benefits them, or why they are choosing to put their trust in it, that is exactly what they are doing. Trust is paramount in believing in anything whatsoever, just the same as we have to trust that any historical text is truthful, or that any witness isn't fabricating a massive tall-tale of a set of lies while claiming his or her neighbor did this or that or the other.

We have to choose who and what we trust in every single day, whether it be governments, news outlets, friends, schools, jobs, co-workers, organizations, studies, polls, or anything else that presents itself before us.

The same goes for our life itself, and the only kicker is, there is no other person that has ever proven they are trustworthy in my opinion besides Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:8)

(E) Simon Greenleaf Puts The Bible In Court

Simon Greenleaf, who was one of the primary founders of Harvard Law School was a self professed atheist who told his class that the resurrection of Jesus Christ was a legend.[5] Some of his students proceeded to challenge this assertion and suggest he test the Biblical account by his rules of evidence just the same as in court. Greenleaf finally accepted this challenge and aimed to disprove what he considered a myth.

Greenleaf could not explain the distinction in the behavior of the disciples of Jesus before His crucifixion and after. The frightful men that fled away at the awareness that Christ was condemned to death, suddenly changed course after the resurrection and went on to become fearless and give their lives to tell that He had risen from the grave according to the Scriptures.

He authored the three-volume text, "A Treatise on the Law of Evidence" in 1842 and essentially wrote the rules of evidence for the U.S. legal system.[6] He eventually wrote the work, "Testimony of the Evangelists" where he outlines his methods in putting the four Gospels on trial.

Following suit, Lee Strobel does a similar thing in his book, "The Case for Christ."[7] He talks about his journey and how a disagreement with his wife and him occurred about her new belief in Christ which he initially thought the best option would be to get a divorce, but decided to investigate whether or not the resurrection was true and try to disprove it and prove his wife was wrong.[8] He eventually reaches the point of no return where he cannot discredit the evidence he is finding and then accepts Christ himself just the same as Simon Greenleaf.

Greenleaf is not stated as saying that the evidence is irresistible, but that it is sufficient evidence for "the serious inquirer."[9] He came to the conclusion that the records of the four Gospels do not show any signs of being forgeries and therefore can be accepted in a court of law as evidence.

Simon Greenleaf once stated "A person who rejects Christ may choose to say that I do not accept it, he may not choose to say there is not enough evidence.”[10]

If it is said by one of the leading legal experts in all of history that the Biblical accounts of Christ are legitimate upon his investigation, then it would seem to me that these things are worthy of our time to verify for ourselves as well.

Section II - Young Earth Evidences Including Dinosaur Soft Tissues And Biblical Indications

(A) Sedimentary Rock Covering The Earth

Around the entire world there are estimates of there being over 500 "great flood" legends, including in remote tribes where missionaries have traveled to learn that the story of this flood already existed in a similar form.[11] These stories include many common details of the Biblical record such as the warning that was given, a family, and the birds being released to test if the waters subsided.

In fact, in 1852-1853 British explorations uncovered clay tablets that depicted the Babylonian "Epic of Gilgamesh." After it was translated in 1872 the story resembled the Biblical account of Noah's flood so accurately that many experts made the claim that the Bible must have copied the Babylonian story.[12]

If this flood occurred in the past we should see sedimentary rocks that are created when sand and sediment are relocated by water. This is exactly what we find in the evidence left for us to observe today, as the rock layer called the "Great Unconformity" is seen in every place across the entire world.[13] This layer also contains a vast extent of the fossils we find and is called the "Cambrian" layer where complex life forms are readily admitted even by secular experts to appear without ancestors.

Not only this, but there are other oddities that we can take note of such as marine life buried in places that are not oceans such as the Chilean Atacama Desert where there are hoards of marine organisms including over 20 whales. Even more shocking we find ocean dwelling creatures buried at 15,000 feet above sea level such as on top of the Andes, Himalayas, Rockies, and the Alps mountain ranges.[14]

These findings suggest a catastrophe the likes of which we would quite certainly have trouble even imagining. Water reaching a height of over 15,000 feet above sea level is not your every day kind of flood and I'm not sure such a flood could be even be sustained in a local manner.

Some people might even think it takes extensive deep time to form sedimentary rock, but a study in Geology learned that it can be formed in as short a time as only 35 years.[15] As for fossil formation, in July 2004 an issue of Sedimentary Geology prominently included a scientific paper of five Japanese scientists who proved rapid fossilization in experiments where wood they placed in hot water springs was found to be fossilized above 33% of its total mass at the seven year mark when they removed it for analysis.[16]

As for me and my little red caboose it seems abundantly apparent that there was a flood across the entire world. Every culture having their own flood stories, marine life on mountain tops, and the same rock layers from one end of Earth to the other? I think the verdict is out on this case. Unless of course there is another way to get ocean life 15,000 foot up a mountain top, in which case, "Lucy, you got some 'splaining to do."

(B) The Impossibility Of Abiogenesis

Abiogenesis, or Autogenesis, is term that used for the concept of life creating itself by random chance at some point in the past. There are many who think this is possible and it is the starting point for the theory in opposition to the Bible, the theory of Evolution. After all, you can't have lifeforms changing into other types without there being an initial lifeform to to start with.

The problematic situation to these assertions is that if it happened by sheer chance and without any intelligence acting upon it in the past, then it should be easily done by intelligent beings who have a fully formed cell to reverse engineer. The fact that they have cells fully formed and thus able to be studied, means that it should be theoretically a cake-walk to create new life in a lab without acting upon it directly. The foundational events that are said to have taken place by proponents of these claims have not been observed ever, and they do not have any reproducible evidence to support their ideas.

The Law of Biogenesis is established through, at least, two famous experiments by scientists Francisco Redi and Louis Pasteur that established that life only results from other life. The Law states that firstly, living things always come from living things, and secondly, living things produce only more living things like themselves.[17]

While proponents of Abiogenesis have many hypothesis and theories, they are overwhelmingly dabbling in the imaginary realm and not science with these fabricated concepts of "what could have happened." Some of the evolutionists have even outright admitted the extremely problematic nature of the impossibility of life creating itself such as John Horgan who asserted that he would focus on the origin of life as an argument if he were a creationist. He stated, "The origin of life is a science writer's dream. It abounds with exotic scientists and exotic theories, which are never entirely abandoned or accepted, but merely go in and out of fashion."[18]

The mathematical probability of this occurring is a 1 in 10 to the 4925th power chance that in all of history and space in the universe the most simple DNA would form randomly. This is a 1 with nearly 5000 zeroes behind it, equating to impossibility.[19] Considering these things there are still voices asserting this to be possible, but you be the judge. After all, we have to make our own choices in life.

(C) Chariot Wheels In The Red Sea And Noah’s Ark Found

To establish the validity of the Bible, we would need to see some kind of indication that the things it reports happened in the past actually occurred. There are many such archaeological finds related to the Bible, but some things are more profound than others. The crossing of the Red Sea by Israel after God plagued Egypt with ten curses for refusing to let Israel go free from their slavery is one of the events that stands out in the Bible.

In 1978 Ron Wyatt made an expedition to the Red Sea where he believed Israel crossed over as recorded in the Biblical text from Pharaoh in Egypt. After diving for evidence of the crossing, he found multiple chariot wheels of which some were still on their axles and some were not. They were covered in coral and he found 6-spoked and 8-spoked wheels in the first expedition and in 1988 he found a gold chariot wheel with 4 spokes that was preserved well as coral does not grow on gold.[20]

In addition to this, Lennart Moller who is a researcher from Sweden trekked to the location and double checked all these claims of Ron Wyatt. Moller verified that these findings are accurate and subsequently put out a documentary[21] and book[22] supporting the conclusions.[23]

Wyatt also recovered the hub of one of the 8-spoked wheels and gave it to Nassif Mohammed Hassan, the Director of Antiquities in Cairo. Hassan stated that the wheel was used during the 18th Dynasty in Egypt and it is said the hub and spokes are on display in Cairo, Egypt. They also found the bones of both humans and horses in the Red Sea off Neweiba Beach as well.[24]

Another amazing discovery that is noteworthy of mentioning is the finding of Noah's Ark at Mt Ararat. In 1960, Won Wyatt noticed something that looked like a boat shaped object in a photo 18 miles away from Mount Ararat. This location has become known as the Durupinar site. He then headed to this site with geophysicist John Baumgardner and David Fasold to inspect it more closely. Using a frequency generator that was new tech at the time they scanned the ground and verified that there was a structure under the ground that was not natural. When reporting these findings to others in the geological and archaeological fields they were laughed at and criticized.[25]

More recently, an American research team doing research at the Durupinar site has used Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to more accurately identify structural features at the site and have identified a hallway down the middle and three layers beneath the ground, corresponding to the account in the Biblical text wherein God instructed Noah to make the boat with three levels.[26]

Furthermore, Sodom and Gomorrah[27] have also been found by a number of amateur investigations as a city of nothing more than remaining ashes littered with sulfur balls embedded into the walls.[28]

These archaeological finds are incredibly impressive all on their own and set a high standard of credibility to the Biblical accounts, but there are even more lesser known and not so extravagant findings as well. Some of these include the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Tel Dan Inscription, the Ketef Hinnom Scrolls, Hezekiah's Tunnel[28], The Pool of Siloam, the Nazarene Site, Peter's house in Capernaum, the Pilate Stone, the Queen of Sheba Sherd, David's Edomite Garrisons and more.[30]

(D) The Laws Of Physics Indicating Divine Control Over Creation

When a game creator codes a game out he establishes particular parameters for the world in which the players are going to be navigating inside of. These rule sets that are defined by the programmer are constants that do not change for any of the users within that environment and control the behavior that objects have within the digital game realm while in play.

These are things such as the mass of objects based on variables set by the designer, the velocity rates of bullets, the speed of vehicles and the weight transfer of them while turning or braking, the measure of force and damage the impact of an explosion creates, the distance at which a player can be heard by another individual in the game and so on.

All of these factors affect players in the game and many of them are determined at the creation of the game and then never changed again. Some of them may be adjusted or corrected if the game play is not within desired standards to balance out the competition properly, but otherwise they are generally "physics" type laws that can be set by the individual who creates the software and he has full control over these variables as he so pleases.

The Laws of Physics in the real and tangible physical world we live in bare a striking semblance to the "laws" that are coded into the three dimensional digital worlds of gaming. If a game cannot have well founded principle rule sets without someone applying them through the use of codes within the software, why would it be any different for the physical realm we inhabit in these flesh and blood bodies?

As Paul Davies states, "Science can proceed only if the scientist adopts an essentially theological worldview. Even the most atheistic scientist accepts as an act of faith the existence of a law-like order in nature that is at least in part comprehensible to us."[31]

A law, in the sense of physics, carries the implication that there is a rule that cannot be broken. In the strict sense of physical laws, we can only jump so high, or throw an object so far according to how much the object weighs and the strength we physically have. In the realm of mathematics though, we encounter another form of rules, wherein we can certainly break the rules, but we will have consequences such as a failing grade, loss of income, or we will simply be embarrassed in front of our peers and look foolish and ignorant.

When driving or navigating public spaces in the world, the establishments of local governments have "laws" that are put in place that we cannot break, and if we do, we have consequences. Wherever we see laws, we find that someone has initiated those laws into being by making a decision and then enforcing them through power they have to do so. In the case of governmental laws the police enforce the consequences on the general public if someone is caught breaking those laws.

All of these simply point our attention upward indicating that there must be a power above us that has implemented these sets of rules and set things into order. While some people will say the universe is this higher power, I would disagree and say the game had a maker and the game did not enact its own codes into software. Other than this conclusion, that something "other than God" put these rules into place, there isn't much wiggle room in deciding what else fabricated a set of principles by which the behavior of all physical matter is controlled and governed by.

Essentially, there aren't really any escape routes out of the divine control we find ourselves in. We can still only jump so high, throw so far, live so long, and jumping off a cliff will not end well no matter how much we believe we can float or fly. The standard operating procedure in this whole ordeal then would be to accept reality for what it is, and to align oneself with it so as to avoid the negative consequences that go with poor decisions like breaking rules that have been set by power that is above us.

As for what the Bible has to say about the laws He establishes (Matthew 22:37-40), in Isaiah 45:9 God says "Woe to him who quarrels with his Maker - one clay pot among many. Does the clay ask the potter, 'what are you making?'

If there are rules put in place that control literally everything that we physically experience, there simply must be someone there putting those rules into effect. We have no reason to believe otherwise, as if there is an effect something had to cause it and gathering from what we observe here it suggests that in reality these laws were put into place by intelligent mind.

(E) Examples Of Dinosaur Soft Tissue Found And Biological Decay Rates

There seem to be quite a number of dinosaur specimens found out on the vast landscape we call Earth. These remains of dinosaurs hold a particular feature that would suggest they cannot, according to basic common sense, be millions of years old. Soft tissue seems to have been found in these expeditions and such elements simply don't have the robust fortitude to withstand temperature changes and varied moisture levels without decomposing.

In 2003 Graham Embery and a team of other scientists found Iguanodon dinosaur bones. Upon close inspection while searching for DNA and other biomolecules they discovered "identifiable remains of typical bone proteins" inside of a rib.[32] This is not a one-off find and it is published and well documented in the scientific community. Could "proteins" actually last over 60 million years without rotting away?

The biggest waves in this realm of revelations have been made by Dr. Mary Schweitzer of soft tissue and other decay prone biological materials inside of a T.rex dinosaur bone. Not only have they found soft stretchy tissue but proteins like collagen, hemoglobin, osteocalcin bone matrix with bone cells called osteocytes and even fragments of DNA molecules.[33]

Dr. Mary Schweitzer seems to think that this found evidence does not suggest they are younger than millions of years old, but has held tight to the belief that they simply must have been preserved for millions of years. This conclusion does not ring true to skepticism in my own ears, but we all have a right to our opinion.

She is also a Christian and dislikes that people would consider these findings as an indication of a younger than previously thought age of their origins, but like she pointed out to Jack Horner, "This is just what the data say, I'm not making it up." Horner, being angry about about the discovery had made a statement just prior to this declaration that seems rather revealing I think when he stated to her in a phone call about it, "-Profanity- Mary, the creationists are just going to love you."[34]

Why would there be any reason to make such a statement? I think the conclusion is quite clear in that it would seem that Jack Horner knows the implications of such findings suggest somewhat clearly that things might not be what we have been told and the ages may need a dramatic adjustment. Dr. Schweitzer deserves great credit in my opinion for following the data where it leads even if it went somewhere that seemed problematic to the worldview she has. I have a very high degree of respect for her, even if she does not agree with the conclusion that these findings seem rather odd and suspiciously indicative of a much more recent departure of dinosaurs from the world's landscape.

But wait, there's more dinosaur soft tissue finds to be found. In 2023 Sherry Baker of Creation Experience Museum (CEM) found a Triceratops pubis bone that was 34 inches in length. After thin sectioning it and examining it they found collagen, leftovers from blood clots and osteocytes that are bone cells.[35] Shocking stuff indeed as this seems to be a pattern emerging in the world of all things dinosaur.

In May of 2012 Mark Armitage and Kevin Anderson identified a triceratops brow horn and took it to California to analyze it. On inspection they found soft tissue[36], fibrillar bone tissue, osteocytes, and blood vessels.[37]

There are numerous finds of soft tissue of dinosaur remains these days and it has only become more frequent of a discovery since. The first one is in 1993, followed by 1997, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2012.[38] Also, Wikipedia has a very large full "List of dinosaur specimens with preserved soft tissue."[39]

As far as decay rates go, Dr. Schweitzer herself stated that, "If you take a blood sample, and you stick it on a shelf, you have nothing recognizable in about a week. So why would there be anything left in dinosaurs?"[40] To question her results I think would also be in error as concerning one of the tests she is also reported as saying, "It was totally shocking, I didn’t believe it until we’d done it 17 times."[41] This is extremely thorough work we are looking at here.

When people are buried inside of a typical casket (as opposed to in the dirt directly), on average it only takes around 10 to 15 years until there is nothing left but a skeleton. If the body is embalmed and placed in a premium sealed casket made of metal, it can last up to around 50 or 100 years.[42]

Now if we really consider this timeline, the average for a body to fully decompose inside a sealed casket being 100 years is quite literally only a speck on the line itself compared to 60 plus million years. I dare say it would be hard to even see it if depicted on an actual physical timeline. 60 million years is enough time for 600,000 human bodies inside of sealed metal caskets to fully decompose one after the other in sequence, and that is with being sealed away by a man-made device from the elements. How long can proteins and blood vessels really last being exposed to the elements then? It doesn't seem to be a reasonable correlation to state that these materials are that resilient over a time period that long and in an environment that harsh.

Section III - Dinosaurs In Recorded History As Dragons And Serpents

(A) Depictions And Drawings Of Dinosaurs From Ancient History

There are many indications from art throughout the world that men seen dinosaurs with their own eyes and physically observed them. If we make the assumption, based off of the claims of others, that this is impossible then the evidence simply does not make sense since there is literally no other way these people could have the knowledge of what they looked like.

In Ta Prohm, Cambodia there is a temple called the Angkor Wat temple that has prominently displayed on the outside of its structure what quite obviously is a stegosaurus dinosaur, complete with triangular plates on its back and on its tail. This temple was built roughly in 1200 AD as a Buddhist monastery.[43]

If one is already convinced that this is impossible then there is nothing that would persuade them into believing this is a dinosaur, yet the image can be mistaken for nothing less than a stegosaurus no matter the stories that may be fabricated to account for such an occurrence. The face-value conclusion is that this is a dinosaur that was alive in 1200 AD or so and people witnessed them with their own eyes. Any child looking at it would recognize it immediately and tell you it is a dinosaur just like the ones they depict in children's books.

Peru has a collection of stones called the Ica Stones on display at the Cabrera Museum in the village of Ica, Peru. These stones are burial art that is placed inside of tombs and are ceremonial. These stones portray a number of carvings of men, dinosaurs, fish, birds and showcase different situations going on between them all. In some of the depictions there are men riding dinosaurs or fish, or killing dinosaurs, or dinosaurs biting and eating men.

It was 1966 when Javier Cabrera found a stone with a fish in Ica and his father used to collect similar stones back in the 1930's. He eventually found other stones and purchased them from two brothers, and then found the source of the stones, a farmer named Basilio Uschuya. This farmer Uschuya stated later to avoid going to Peruvian prison that he forged the stones himself. Cabrera collected a whopping 11,000 stones from Uschuya by the 1970's.[44]

There is a strong controversy around these Ica Stones because they depict dinosaurs and men together so you will find an extremely large quantity of negative opinions about the ordeal. In all fairness, I personally feel these people have more faith in this one "farmer's" artistic ability and work ethic (can you imagine as one person carving 11,000 stones with art?!) than I have that men seen dinosaurs. There are still some places on the internet that display the images found on these rocks and I just cannot possibly fathom one man creating such a vast array of art and of all things on stone.[45]

Vance Nelson, who has a Bachelors of Science degree in biology, wrote a book that highlights ancient art drawn by natives of dinosaurs. In a trip to the Amazon in Peru he found a long-necked dinosaur painted with red pigment surrounded by hunters with spears. This particular artwork has been seen by ten archaeologists and they have all verified the finding as authentic.[46]

At a place called Carlisle Cathedral in England there there is a tomb for Bishop Bell who died around 500 years ago in 1496. Underneath a carpet in the middle of the Cathedral there is a brass inlay of two long-necked dinosaurs carved on the floor. The carving is worn down from being walked on before the carpet was put there, but it is still very clearly two dinosaurs and the artistry was done long before we had books on dinosaurs.[47]

The ancient dinosaur figurines of Acámbaro is a 35,000 strong collection of figurines that showcase dinosaurs and humans interacting with each other. Only about ten percent of the collection has dinosaur depictions and it was discovered in 1945 by a German merchant name Waldemar Julsrud by the El Toro mountain. Julsrud eventually ended up paying one of his employees per piece to find the figurines after finding one of them in the dirt and digging them up from time to time while not working. In 1953, a number of archaeologists from the Mexican government declared them all modern creations stating that they could not be from ancient times. An American organization named the Amerind Foundation sent Charles Di Peso to analyze the collection as well, and he stated the same thing, that they were not ancient. Eventually, a scientist name Charles Hapgood tested the pieces in 1968 with radiocarbon dating and got a date of roughly 3,500 years old. Hapgood also examined the collection of figurines and determined that it was impossible they were planted by someone in the modern age.[48]

There are many other occurrences of dinosaurs seen in artwork around the world also and it starts to add up.[49] How could these people draw a creature they never once seen in their life? I don't think they could.

(B) Extra-Biblical Literary Accounts Of Dragons

Many well intended people are looking to secular literary accounts of dragons to support the conclusion that men and dinosaurs lived together. While I applaud them attempting to stick to their personal convictions, I will not bow to inaccurate analysis of evidential material to put a crutch under my opinion and falsely represent the reality before us all.

The truth of the matter is that while I believe men have seen dinosaurs, and they were all (that being large reptiles) called dragons before the 1900's, most of the accounts I could find included mythical and hysterical details to extravagant levels that were not related to what we now typically know as dinosaurs overall.

The word "dinosaur" didn't exist in the early 1800's, and while the word was coined by Sir Richard Owen in 1841, there was no such thing as the internet and in 1891 the word still had not made it into the American dictionary.[50]

Most of the texts you will find being claimed as evidence for dragons being dinosaurs in secular historical texts tend toward fanciful descriptions of very large serpents or snakes, some with two legs, some with none, some with wings and often carrying an array of vast destructive abilities or poisonous qualities. Aside from large snakes or serpents, these accounts do not prove nor disprove anything related to the typically known dinosaurs being seen by men who called them dragons. Often the stories also carry outrageous and unrealistic events and characteristics that convey that many of these stories, even if they have any truth behind them, are false or at the very least have been severely maimed by inclusions or modifications outside the realm of reality.

For example, Beowolf being a hero, injures the first monster that is attacking people and then subsequently Beowolf chases the monster's mother who ate a person to her lair underwater at the bottom of a sea. He then fights her submerged and takes the head of the first monster, Grendel, that he initially killed from the lair and swims to the surface. Dane-land is then free of this mischief of evil and Beowolf is a hero.[51] This is quite obviously not true in the slightest. As one reads the story it becomes increasingly more obvious that it is not true.

I do not doubt there to be some truth in some accounts of serpents of great size, and maybe even having been a serpent or snake with wings considering the sheer magnitude of varying types of animals we find. But to determine what accounts carry accurate information amidst the collective as a whole is a feat that seems unapproachable in general and there isn't much to validate them without going on pure faith. Considering the fallen nature of mankind, I would venture that more rather than less of them are sensational or at least not completely original.

Take the account of Athanasius Kircher for example where it is said, "As it flew it was like iron struck in a forge when pressed together that scatters sparks. Or Saxo Grammaticus in his Gesta Danorum states, " ...his slaver (saliva) burns up what it bespatters..."[52] I know some things that are hard to believe for other people that are true, but this might be pushing the envelope on mystical claims. Dragons, that are serpent-like, I can entertain the concept of, but flying dragons that shoot scattering sparks is moving into the outrageous claims category.

With these things said, there is a hint of possibility to some truth in the mix somewhere, though it still does not address four-legged dinosaurs in the category of dragons. Alexander the Great, who the world accepts as a historically sound individual with accurate records of his endeavors, reports a gigantic dragon (or serpent) in a cave where they stirred the beast up, which is said to have been 70 cubits (or 105 feet) long. Not only that, but one of his lieutenants was recorded as saying the Indian king Abisarus kept serpents that were 120 and 210 feet long.[53] While this is extreme and I have not looked into the account in depth, the longest recorded snake in the modern world was in 1912 at 32 feet long and was a reticulated python. If there are not any mythical traits reported, it could be possible that a snake or serpent existed of that size in Alexander's day considering we know there were other creatures of such massive proportions in the past.

These secular records have not provided any acceptable evidence to validate or discredit men physically observing physical four-legged typically known dinosaurs. I suspect that there are literary accounts that do back up this notion, being that there is other evidence to such that people have witnessed dinosaurs of which they used a different word to describe, but if those historical accounts or texts exist they are not available to the general public.

(C) The Truth About Dragons And Their Bones

To further illustrate the connection between the terms dragon and dinosaur one need only to look at some older archaeological documents to connect the dots.

In "The New Conquest of Central Asia" Roy Chapman Andrews documented expeditions in Mongolia and China from 1921 to 1930. His first recorded instance of "dragon bones" in the piece states that he wanted to leave some of these large dinosaur bones with the local priests of the Baron Sog monastery until they could be transported by a caravan. The request was denied by them due to the fact that the priests supposed the last time they had done such and helped them a number of horses and sheep had died and they suspected it to be caused by the dragon bones they were temporarily holding previously on their property.[54] This event characterizes the superstitious nature of the people in Asia pertaining to dinosaur bones and highlights the fact that dinosaurs, called dragons during their own time, were considered religious and divine in nature as many pagans do with other animals such as India with cattle.

Continuing on in another account Andrews states that they consider these dragon bones and dragon teeth (Lung Ku and Lung Ya) as medicinal ingredients. They are powdered often and also put into alcohol solutions to absorb the extracts from the bone and then the alcohol removed and drunk.[55] Considering these things it can be no wonder if there is little evidence of "dragon bones" being left in these locations when they were literally consuming dinosaur bones as a form of belief in their divine qualities to heal and remove ailments. Add to the fact that no one knows exactly how long they had been doing such things and the number of dinosaur skeletons that have vanished could be astonishing.

Andrews points this out while directly using the term "dragon bones" to describe these dinosaur remains specimens and laments the fact that he could not pursue successive endeavors to China. He alludes to his knowledge that they are quickly eating away "priceless scientific specimens" referring to the "custom-ridden" people there and finishes by calling it a "palaeontological nightmare."[56]

The word dragon did not carry a TV and movies or cartoons and comics type association with it when people did not have such technologies. The only "dragons" they knew of were dinosaurs, or extremely large reptiles, that were all classed together as we do fish today for nearly everything in the ocean that swims including sea horses.

Dragon simply meant dinosaur, and in many of the cases of stories told this category included large serpents or snakes that were of a gigantic size such as was mentioned previously with Alexander the Great and his claimed encounter. We have a paleontologist in Mongolia and China in the early 1900's clearly stating that what the local people there were calling dragons, he very evidently knew to be dinosaur remains. In this literary documentation of his expedition the words "dragon bones" occurs 12 times, and "dragon" occurs 35 times. There is no mistaking that these creatures existed and were simply known by a different name during earlier time periods in history.

Most of the literature from secular history using the word dragon that we find today refer to very large snakes, not the average dinosaur, and many of them can be discounted as fables. Some of these accounts include feet, while others include wings, but again, we know from archaeological records that in the past people used this description for what we now know as dinosaurs. The superstitions of the people about the creatures, or the fact that imaginary details were rumored about them, does not remove the factual nature of their existence. If there were no underlying truth beneath the tales being purported then the stories would have never gained traction and become so popular and common in the world.

The modern version of dragons and mythical stories that are now produced are a result of present day cinema, movies and shows created from the tall-tales of these serpent-like creatures like that of Athanasius Kircher quoted above. The fact that these fantastical stories exist is not evidence that there is no such thing as a dragon, but that the understanding of what a dragon in the past truly is has been obscured by modern day entertainment and exaggerations in media following inaccurate stories.

(D) The Biblical Accounts Of Dinosaurs Called Dragons

There are accounts in the Biblical record that are very clearly staggering examples used by God to allude to His majesty and power by referencing the creatures. They are said to be fierce and unassailable by man or beast, that no one can approach them or challenge them. Some ascribe one of these animals to be elephants or hippos and they are very clearly not studying the details that God uses to describe them.

In the book of Job the word behemoth is used to describe a gigantic animal that very obviously is far beyond the reaches of normal sized things. The tail of this beast is stated to be like a cedar tree in Job 40:17. These cedar trees are not your average version and are stated as averaging between 80 and 160 feet in height[57] with many of them stretching to heights above 200 feet with trunks 10 feet wide and larger.[58]

God was not describing something we have living on Earth now in the modern age, and this is quite apparent. This tail is one insanely large piece of construction and could only be attributed to a creature the size of a dinosaur. In Job 40 verses 21 and 22 God continues on elaborating and stating that this beast lays down under shady trees among the reeds and that the willows next to the water (the brook) surround him.

What becomes obvious about this description when one realizes what God is really saying, is that this animal, behemoth, is laying down in the river itself among the plants to keep cool. This becomes even more evident as the passage continues and it is said that he drinks up the river in verse 23, that he knows that he can draw the river Jordan into his mouth. This makes perfect sense when we look at the depth of the Jordan River which is only 17 feet at its deepest point.[59] Being that this animal resembles an apatosaurus (or "brontosaurus") most accurately, we can see that he could easily do this without question. An apatosaurus is 30 feet tall up to his back and 16 feet tall at his hips[60] meaning he could lay down in the river and have zero concerns at all being mostly submerged with his back still above water and his long neck means even more certainty there is no possibility of drowning.

The next beast that God describes has a very bad attitude and that is unmistakable from the text. God is pointing out that this animal, named leviathan, is no toy to play with and that absolutely no one can subdue him. The fact that pulling him out with a hook is mentioned in Job 41:1 points to him being in the water, he also has legs and is not a fish with fins as noted in verse 12. This revelation is also made by more fishing imagery with sentiments of using harpoons and fishing spears and implying they won't work in verse 7.

This monster of a creature lives in the water, has legs, is obviously very large and cannot be approached by anyone due to its ferocity. Another thing that is noticed while reading is the teeth being highlighted as a prominent feature. Not only, but in verse 32 it says he leaves a giant wake behind him like a boat would, or... a crocodile.

It would almost seem like God is referring to a crocodile, but is he? Well, just maybe He is, but not the kind we would initially suppose. Sarcosuchus[61], or in plain terms "enormous crocodile dinosaur," is a dinosaur that was like a crocodile but is not one exactly. Rather it is very similar in body type but definitely not in size, as this creature could easily eat an entire human. These large reptiles could grow to 40 feet long and had very large scales[62] that locked closely together all over their body, just like mentioned in Job 41:15-17.

The Bible goes on to put a spotlight on something many assume to be sensational and impossible, but I would dare venture and say that it is not only possible but extremely plausible even to skeptics if they take a close look at this animal's snout. If one looks at the nose of sarchosuchus, there are open cavities, a hollow area where it looks like a specialized set of passages existed and possibly even organs to produce an attack mechanism. Like a combination between the abilities of the spitting cobra and the bombardier beetle, I assert that this creature is likely the one that produced chemicals that created fire. Spitting cobras have special glands to produce venomous toxins that they spray with a very specific to their species type of fang designed for it.[63] Bombardier beetles likewise formulate specific chemicals using glands in its body that it mixes which upon dispersion create explosive attacks on predators.[64] If this snake, and little beetle, have the ability to create such insane chemical reactions then it is not outside of reality that this dinosaur could very well be the one that breathed fire from its nostrils and mouth.

In Job 41, this particular aspect of the animal leviathan is not just lightly entertained, but is emphatically emphasized and re-emphasized. In verse 18 it says his sneezes have light, in verse 19 out of his mouth goes burning lights and sparks of fire shoot out, in verse 20 smoke comes out of his nostrils, in verse 21 his breath is like coals and flames go from his mouth, in verse 31 he makes the water boil like in a pot on the stove. Seems to me this isn't just a passing point and it certainly can't be said that it is referring to anything besides that this animal breathes fire. Sure, one can dismiss it and disbelieve it, but it cannot be said that the text isn't describing a fire breathing animal.

The last major noteworthy point of this creature to review more closely is the magnitude of his armor. The scales these sarchosuchus creatures have are called scutes that were up to a foot wide[65] creating large shields that lock together. In Job 40:15-16 God says that the animal being referred to has these, and they are locked closely together accurately painting this beast. It continues in verse 26 to say that swords cannot harm him, nor can spears, darts, or javelins. In verse 27 it states that iron is like straw to him and useless, in verse 28 that arrows are nothing, in 29 that he laughs at javelins.

The sheer pinpoint accuracy of the description is incredible and shocking, and if we were to be standing in front of this monstrous being I think we would be thinking twice of challenging him as well. It is no wonder why God is using it as a reference in His conversation with Job to His majesty and power.

These are the only descriptive references of dinosaurs, or dragons, that are in the Bible, but there are many other passing mentions. They are not the only allusions to these large creatures in the text. The word "dragon" is referenced 19 times, and the word "dragons" is referenced 16 times in the King James Version Bible with a sum of 35 times total. There are also 5 other references to leviathan in the Bible in 4 different locations.

Among these additional Biblical references to dragons I personally feel the most insightful of them is Jeremiah 51:34 where it states "...he hath swallowed me up like a dragon..." This highlights the fact that these creatures are not small in any way and equates to the size we know dinosaurs to be.

(E) The Chinese Dragon And Superstitious Worship Of It

The Chinese calendar has twelve animals on it that are depicted as twelve real animals. Many people suppose the "dragon" to be a mythical creature posted up in the middle of twelve other "real" animals, but this is not a likely assumption.

The Chinese, as previously mentioned here in the archaeological expedition to Mongolia and China by Roy Chapman Andrews, have routinely worshiped dragons religiously and considered their bones a medical ingredient for nearly any ailment whatsoever. When one takes a closer look at the very stylized version of the "dragon" they depict in their drawing of it, it can be quite misleading and send someone to their favorite movie of medieval ages. But under the microscope if one analyzes the details the obscurity tends to start vanishing.

For starters the dragon on the calendar has a long snout, the body is also long with a tail, it has four legs, and is often depicted in water. Very key to this picture is that it does not have wings, but in their stories the Chinese do attribute to this animal the ability to breathe fire.[66] This is very likely one of the sources where the movies and tv shows got their ideas for "fire breathing dragons."

The people in China call the alligator "yow-lung" which means "dragon," and it is said there to be the dragon there.[67] Chinese archaeologists have stated this as well and base their conclusion from one of the earliest images found in 1987 that is thousands of years old in an ancient tomb in Puyang city, Henan.[68] Even more incredible, the word "jiaolong" in Chinese refers to a dragon that is said to live in the water, and in English translations "jiao" has been translated as crocodile.[69] Furthermore, the fact that the Chinese alligator is known as the "muddy dragon" is well established.[70]

But I don't think that the common alligator or crocodile is the original source for this "Chinese Dragon" that is on their calendar. I think it is is the sarchosuchus, or "enormous crocodile dinosaur" I alluded to previously as portrayed in the Bible that states it breathes fire and cannot be challenged by anyone. In ancient cultures people being very superstitious tended toward worshiping these large reptiles that were powerful and so they would obviously do so if they seen one breathing fire.

Examples of this are found such as in the text of "Bel and the Dragon" where people in Babylon worshiped a dragon that Daniel promptly kills after asking permission from the king and poisons the beast with a special mixture of ingredients.[71] This is not only believable but what we do to small creatures today, as with pests we can't catch and kill them all so we simply use their appetites and ignorance against them. In doing this Daniel destroys any notion that this creature is a "god" and exposes it as a false idol. Then there is the other example, at least a record of claims, of the dragon Alexander found in the aforementioned passages that was said by him to be worshiped by those in India when he invaded.[72]

So the sarchosuchus would also fit all the criteria quite nicely for the Chinese Dragon and would explain why they are worshiping it, as they have been amply noted to be superstitious in that day and age in that region. The modern day dragon depictions with wings is quickly noticed as an added feature and the fact that the modern versions stand off the ground with longer legs is also a misrepresentation of the original.

All in all I think the case is closed on dragons being mythical, as the Chinese have a long history of recognizing this beast as something of importance that was quite real in their culture. At least for me, there is little doubt that this is all an instance of a mixture of real life creatures with astounding abilities as we see many today possess, and the dramatic and sometimes downright impractical characterizations that are derived from purely fictional stories and legends by people with a desire for notoriety or prestige.

Each Soul Must Decide For Themselves

At the end of the day with all these things the decision making is up to each one of us to determine for ourselves what we believe. I did not put this information here to convince anyone against their will, but to offer and share those things which I see and give others the things given to me.

If men like Simon Greenleaf, who was a very intelligent man, can state that he had made a serious mistake in his reasoning and decided that God was not only real but that it could be proven in court that He died on a cross, then we all owe it to ourselves to check and double-check all the information and be sure that if eternity is real that we not make an eternal mistake.

Who can say that the person that gave us life is not deserving of due credit? Or that being required to love their neighbor is too much to expect? How can we say there is not enough evidence if we stand before God with all the knowledge we have today?

If there is a mistake to be made in life, it certainly isn't the one that holds eternal consequence. We have DNA, no explanation of the original manifestation of life, indicators that timelines are shorter than we have been told, evidence of a great flood, dragons are real creatures, and great faith is required to believe anything we determine as the truth.

The only real question we have to ask ourselves is... where is my heart truly leading me in all of this?

If you want to secure your soul in eternity and would like to start a relationship with the person that gave you life, you can get a quick start here.
