How Prophecy Reveals The Truth Of The Bible

A Book From Outside Of Time

Have you ever checked the claims of the Bible being divinely inspired out for yourself?

For anyone who takes the time to look at the information themselves it becomes a shocking revelation that the text is literally predicting the future long before it ever happens.

While there are those people full of pride who exist only to attempt to cast doubt on its validity, the probabilities leave absolutely zero room for doubt to those who will humble themselves to consider God’s Word.

Here are a few examples of the Bible predicting God’s number one event and details pertaining to it with extreme precision.

A Depiction Of God’s Love In Abraham’s Test

Genesis 22

God almighty, knowing in His infinite wisdom that He was going to send His own Son, Lord Jesus, into the world to be sacrificed for our sins... He set Abraham up for a divine test.

The testing was to determine if there was anything that Abraham Loved more than the person who gave him his very life.

In true glorious fashion God set the stage to honor His Son in putting all the pieces in place just as it would happen in the future.

Firstly, the scriptures record Abraham starting early in the morning in accordance with the timing that Jesus Christ would be crucified as found in Matthew 27, and so Abraham “rose up early in the morning,” and got everything prepared and left.

The journey from start to finish took three days to arrive at the location for the sacrifice to take place which is a foreshadowing of the three days between Christ being crucified and His resurrection.

In addition to this, just as Christ Jesus carried His wooden cross up to Golgotha, Abraham laid the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac his son’s back to carry up the mountain.

In just the same way that Abraham proved to God that he Loved God with all his heart, mind, soul and strength, our Father in Heaven sent His Son Jesus Christ to prove to us that He Loves us and has provided an offering for our Sin to spare us like God spared Abraham’s son.

Just before Abraham went through with killing his son, God sent an angel to stop him and a ram was shown to him nearby to sacrifice instead.

The parallels between the crucifixion of Lord Jesus on the cross and this passage in the very first book of the Bible thousands of years in advance of the event give us a strong reference point to trust that God planned this all out for our salvation.

Revelation 13:8 states that Jesus Christ is the “...Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

The sheer impossibility of all of these factors lining up by coincidence is mind shattering.

The Words Of The Savior On The Cross

Psalm 22

Psalm 22:1

“{To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David.} My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?”

In both Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34 the scriptures record Christ Jesus quoting exactly the words in Psalm 22 while on the cross just before giving up His spirit.

This chapter in the Psalms is profound in that it reads as being written by the person Jesus Christ who was hanging on the cross.

Verse 6 in the chapter portrays the horrific treatment the people gave Him and says they despised Him.

Continuing on in verses 7 and 8 it practically quotes the men mocking Him in chapter 27 of Matthew.

Psalm 22:7-8

“7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.”

Matthew 27:42-43

“42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.”

Further reading of Psalm 22 reveals predictions of Christ hanging on the cross and His “bones are out of joint...”

It gets even more specific than this when it says in the Psalm that “they pierced my hands and feet.”

If all this were not enough detail to point directly to the event it also records thousands of years before that they would gamble for the Savior’s clothes.

To add to the power of all this accuracy is the fact that this is a second prediction of the same event Genesis 22 foretells.

But wait, we aren’t done just yet!

The Saviors Sacrifice Witnessed In Advance

Isaiah 53

In this chapter of the Bible we find a majestic display of insight that God is revealing to His prophet Isaiah about the Savior’s crucifixion.

While the first example in Genesis 22 is set from the viewpoint of the Father’s experience, and the second example in Psalm 22 is from the Son’s perspective, this third example is as it were from the eyes and experience of the Holy Spirit beholding the beloved Savior’s selfless suffering as a witness to the event.

Verse 3 of this chapter begins by describing how the Lord Jesus was rejected by men and “a man of sorrows” and “smitten of God...”

It tells of how every one of us in mankind has “turned” to our own way, meaning we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23) and our sins were laid on Him.

The words describe a sacrifice being made depicting Christ as “a lamb to the slaughter” and declaring that He did not open his mouth meaning He did not defend Himself in His innocence but kept silent and took our sins for us willingly because He Loves us.

Isaiah 53:10

“Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.”

The sin Jesus Christ was paying for were sins that we as the guilty ones should have had to pay ourselves, but He took them on Himself for all those who would accept His gift of life and Love.

Why Disbelief Is An Insult To God

To lay a super-solid foundation of belief that God did this for us, He has went far beyond reasonable in giving us ample evidence this is all divine truth.

There are countless other prophecies to consider, such as the brass serpent lifted up in the desert on a pole for people bitten by snakes to be healed in Numbers 21:4-9.

The Lord Jesus revealed the connection to this serpent in the desert and His crucifixion being to heal us just before the most famous verse in the Bible:

John 3:14-17

“14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

Even the clothes we wear every day are a symbol of the prophecy of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion for our sins.

In Genesis 3:21 immediately following Adam and Eve’s fall into sin, God sacrificed the first animal to make leather clothes for them to cover themselves with.

This act was the first sacrifice in the Bible and represents that God planned in the very beginning to send His Son to die for us and pay for our sin and disobedience.

So every day we get up and put clothes on we are acknowledging that we need to be covered by God’s grace and mercy through His Son Jesus Christ!

We would all be insulted if someone stated they didn’t believe us after we told them our name.

After all, what right do they have to call you a liar? Especially when they just met you!

This is what we are doing to God when we disbelieve in His Word, The Bible, after all the extreme work and care God has put into making the truth very clear and easy to see.

God’s Prediction For You

The most powerful predictions God has given are the ones that apply to you personally.

God has solemnly promised that if you search for Him genuinely that He will make sure you find Him.

Jeremiah 29:13

“And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

God has also solemnly promised that if you confess Jesus is Lord and believe God raised Him from the dead that you will be saved and your sins forgiven.

Romans 10:9

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

If you have doubt in your heart, you don’t need to be in despair, as God will help you with your doubt if you will ask Him like the man in Mark 9:24.

God tells us in Philippians 2:12 to “work out your own salvation” which means to seek to resolve any doubts you have in what God has asked us to believe.

It is truly the most simple thing in the world to respectfully search for God and ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a prayer and I can assure you that if you are genuine and sincere He will honor your prayer.

Prophecy goes much deeper than this and I would highly recommend taking a deep dive into the well of God’s endless wisdom of the Bible.

The book from outside of time that predicts the future has validated itself to billions of searching souls by now.

Don’t you think it is your turn to acquire some eternal treasure and secure your own soul?
